Brushed Out Curls
It may seem counterintuitive to run a brush through a freshly curled mane, but the look is making some cameos in the fashion world lately. Remember that hair is the most pliable before it cools, so if you’re using a wand to achieve curls and want maximum volume when you brush out, (the Classic Curling Wand Pearl creates natural-looking curls). Let them set before brushing through with a comb or your fingers. Pro tip: brushing your hair with your fingers will result in less of a frizzy texture than with a comb, so ask yourself how bold you would like to go before you comb.
Claw Clips
Claw clips are making a comeback! They’re super chic for holding French twists or securing a half-up, half-down style. Great for days when you’re maybe not rocking a fresh wash and dry, hide any oiliness before clipping with a product, like our Dirty to Flirty Dry Shampoo Aerosol. If you’re looking for some killer deals on claw clips, Amazon has got your back with some options.
Straight ‘n Glossy
Wild, wavy, voluminous hair has been the coveted style for quite some time, but those in the know are predicting that fall 2019 hair trends will be all about the straight, glossy vibe. There’s nothing wrong with wanting to start the school year some fresh, healthy locks. To ensure plenty of shine and smoothness, we’d go with a serum like our Sleeky in a Bottle Serum applied to wet hair before drying and styling. Also, get hair as sleek as possible with a quality tool like our Fashionista Straightener, which uses 1-inch pure tourmaline ceramic floating plates along with negative ion conditioning that results in hair that stays sleek and healthy.
Half Up French Crown Braid
This ‘do is a sweet, feminine style that can go from the classroom to a Friday night football game. If you always make A’s in braiding, this cute girl hairstyle for the first day of school should be in your repertoire. Braids are always a safe option for dirty hair days, so don’t be afraid to bust out a powder-based dry shampoo like our Clean ‘N Mean Dry Shampoo Powder to mask greasiness at the roots.
Side Parted Low Pony
A low ponytail with a deep side part is a cute girl hairstyle for the first day of school that says, “Hand me my glasses, I’ve got some learning to do…” or maybe it’s just a quick, easy way to look put together when you’re rushing to get ready in the morning. Tame any frizz with a dose of our Gloss Boss Serum and set the pony with our Hottie Alert Shine Hairspray.
