Labor Day marks the unofficial end of summer. It’s also the day where we celebrate… laboring. But just because we’re having barbecues and throwing parades in honor of our hard work doesn’t mean the styles we rock this holiday should themselves be laborious. In fact, nothing says I’m a hard working gal who’s ready to kick up (or off) her heels like a quick updo or an easy braided style. Check out these six celebration-ready looks that are far simpler to pull off than that spreadsheet you’ll be working on Tuesday morning.

Double Dutch Braids

Double Dutch Braid

Who said double dutching was just for kids?  This casual, beach-vibey style combines the structure of a chunky braid with loose, subtle waves.  The best part is that there’s no need to prep—just start on hair in its natural state. If you really want to make those waves pop, NuMe Scarlett Curling Wand will give you that oh-so-dreamy oceanside look.

fishtail braid

Fishtail Braid

Ladies with short to medium-length hair can send their fellow Labor Day revelers into full-on envy mode with this striking fishtail braid pinned into perfectly imperfect tresses.  The less polished the look, the better. For added texture and dimension on the loose hair, use NuMe Classic Curling Wand Pearl. Just curl, tousle and peace out.

high buns

Adorned High Buns

Adorned high buns are simply ador-a-ble, especially when you use sweet floral accents or any dainty hair accessories you have lying around. The buns themselves are a cinch. Before styling, apply a little of NuMe Argan Oilfor added luster and softness that won’t weigh hair down. Then just make a clean part down the middle, band each section and bobby pin them.
The girly girl in you will wonder why you didn’t do this sooner.

low buns

Messy Low Buns

If you’re the kind of gal who wakes up 15 minutes before she leaves the house for work, then you definitely are not trying to complicate things on your day off. In a couple of minutes, you can achieve a low bun style that says, “No I didn’t spend all day in the mirror, and yes, I look fabulous.” This soft look works best on oil-free hair, which you can achieve without the hassle of washing and blow drying. Just apply NuMe Clean N’ Mean - Dry Shampoo Powder to your scalp and massage. With all that newfound volume, you’ll be ready to style.

Front high bun

Front High Bun

No one ever regretted keeping things cute and classy. And the high bun is the epitome of that. Plus in keeping your hair up and away, you can show off those amazing cheekbones and that end-of-summer, sun-kissed glow. That’s a head-to-toe win. The key to this style is making sure it’s as polished and smooth as possible. NuMe Sleeky In A Bottle Serum will have your strands shinin’, behavin’ and frizz-free all day long.

braided updo

Braided Updo

No one said you have to pick just one! Go for a combined braid-updo style that’s just as easy on your time as it is the eye. This look is 100% dainty and delicate, so blow drying with NuMe Ionic Round Brush will give you a soft finish that creates the perfect foundation to build on. Make a couple of braids at the front, pull them back into a ponytail with the rest of your hair and pin into a bun. Voilà. A damsel without the distress.
